My raw data is in a different date format. How can I change this?

Our tools have been designed to handle a wide range of different data formats.

The easiest way to bring your datasets in a standardized format is to use the Energy Data Formatter tool.

If you have a dataset the system does not accept, please send it to us, and we will try to update our tool.

The internal database of energy datasets is structured in three columns:

  • Start Date (first column): This is the first date of the measurement period.
  • End Date (second column): This is the last date of the measurement period. Be aware that the end date of one period can not be the start date of the next period.
  • Usage (third column): The value of a measurement period

We've tried to cover various input formats, so you can enter your data in the format that works best for you.

Our standard date format is YYYY-MM-DD, but our tools will also handle dates stored in other formats.

The system will also handle different kinds of delimiters, labels, or header information.

If you have gaps in your data, then you'll need to fill out the second column's end date. Otherwise, the system will assume that the end date is the same as the start date for the next period.
