What is the difference between "Web Access" and "API Access"?

Modified on Tue, 15 Nov, 2022 at 5:40 PM

In general, we offer two different access forms to our tools and database:

  • Web Access
  • API Access

Web Access

The web access to our energy tools helps you quickly analyze your energy data directly in your web browser or to get access to our heating and cooling degree days database.

With a Web Access subscription, you can use all our web tools without limitations

  • Data limits: none!
  • Locations included: over 23,000 weather stations
  • Save and manage your energy datasets on our platform

API Access

API stands for an application programming interface. It simply means that we have an interface on our servers that can directly communicate with your software or database. This way, you can automatically fetch the latest Degree Days for your analyses.

Energy Management Software

Our API can be used to connect directly to your energy management software. If you’re unsure whether software can be connected to our API, request a testing license and connect us to your developer or software provider.

MS Excel

It takes just a minute to connect your database to Excel. Once you’ve done it, your data sheets will always have the latest available data.

Database

Do you want to build a local database of Degree Days and fetch the latest data at regular intervals?

No problem! Choose your API plan and get the data when you need it in JSON or CSV format.

Other Systems

Our universal API allows all different kinds of operating systems and software to connect to our database. We have a dedicated technical team that will help you get up and running in no time!
